Acoustic Performance
ARTMUR panels combine design and acoustics by effectively reducing ambient noise. Their felt has an average NRC of 0.8, meaning an absorption capacity of up to 80% of sound.
The wooden slats diffuse some of the sound waves, while the polyester felt absorbs a large proportion, offering a real NRC between 0.55 and 0.66 — corresponding to an absorption class D.
For maximum performance, adding mineral wool behind the panel allows for an absorption class A.
Air Quality Certification (VOC)
Indoor air can be filled with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from building materials and furniture.
ARTMUR panels comply with the strictest standards and are certified A+, the highest level, guaranteeing a healthy indoor environment with low pollutant emissions.
Fire Protection
The National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) imposes strict requirements regarding wall and ceiling coverings to limit the spread of flames.
According to article 2.2.1.12, the flame spread index must not exceed 150, with even stricter standards for high-rise buildings (section 3.1.13.7).
ARTMUR panels far exceed these requirements:
- Flame spread index < 25
- Smoke developed index < 50
They are therefore compliant and safe for all types of construction in Canada: residential, commercial, or institutional.
