Acoustic wall panels for restaurants

A room's acoustics can make or break the experience. Overlapping voices, amplified clatter, a heavy atmosphere — all signs that reverberation has taken over. Our acoustic panels in real wood slats, mounted on high-density absorbent felt, restore a sound comfort where conversation can breathe, without sacrificing the venue's visual signature.

Oak, walnut, black ash: warm species that converse with the materials of your décor while meeting the fire requirements of Canadian commercial spaces.

Frequently asked questions

Dining-room noise is one of the leading causes of customer dissatisfaction: according to the Zagat Annual Dining Survey, noise consistently ranks in the top 3 complaints from restaurant guests, just after service. When reverberation sets in, voices drown each other out, staff raise their voices and finish the day exhausted — the IRSST even documents auditory fatigue as a real risk in service environments. Acoustic treatment lowers the perceived sound level in the room by 6 to 10 dB, smooths conversation and directly improves your « ambiance » rating on Google and Tripadvisor. For the team: less vocal fatigue, less turnover. For the average check: guests stay longer and spend more. Discover our Acoustic Pro Collection to see the models designed for commercial spaces.

The rule of thumb: cover about 25 to 35% of the exposed wall surface (or an equivalent mix of walls + ceiling), depending on the room volume, the existing materials (concrete, glass and metal reflect; wood and textiles absorb) and occupancy density. For a 60-seat room of about 120 m², that represents between 30 and 45 m² of acoustic panels. The smart move: send us your plans via the Quote page — our team calculates the useful surface and proposes a suitable layout. For more complex projects (mezzanine, double height, covered terrace), we work with partner acoustic consultants.

Our panels from the Acoustic Pro Collection are made of real wood slats mounted on high-density PET felt (panels recycled to over 60%). They offer an absorption coefficient (NRC) ranging between 0.75 and 0.90 depending on the model and thickness — meaning they absorb up to 90% of the sound energy that strikes them in speech frequencies. The technical detail for each reference is available on the Technical specifications page. For comparison, a painted gypsum partition has an NRC below 0.05 — hence the immediate effect felt as soon as they're installed.

Yes. Our acoustic panels for restaurants meet the CAN/ULC-S102 standard for surface burning characteristics (flame spread and smoke development) of interior finish materials — a requirement of the National Building Code of Canada for assembly occupancies (public-receiving establishments). The full certifications are detailed on our Certifications page. For projects subject to a municipal inspector, we provide the technical documentation on request.

This is one of the great advantages of real wood on PET felt in a restaurant environment: dry vacuuming (soft brush) every 2 to 4 weeks depending on traffic, and a lightly dampened microfibre cloth for occasional marks (cooking vapour, splashes). No harsh chemicals required. PET felt resists UV and does not yellow. 1-year product warranty from delivery (details).

Yes — in Greater Montreal, our team offers a turnkey installation service: measurements, layout, mounting on battens or gluing depending on the substrate. For projects outside the area, we provide detailed installation instructions and work with your contractor. Installation takes place after electrical and painting work, ideally before the furniture is set up. Allow 1 to 2 days of installation for a standard room.

For in-stock references (natural oak, white, light walnut, black ash — see the Acoustic Pro Collection): shipping within 2 to 5 business days, installation the following week depending on scheduling. For custom finishes or large volumes (over 80 m²), allow 4 to 6 weeks of production. Projects on a tight schedule (opening, fast renovation) are handled as a priority — specify your opening date in the quote request.
